Happening Now: Three Injured In New Castle Crash

On Wednesday, at approximately 3:55 PM, a traffic collision was reported at the intersection of Hamburg Road and River Road in New Castle. This serious incident resulted in multiple patients being entrapped within the wreckage according to initial reports.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and worked to free the trapped patient(s). At 4:21 PM Command reported that all individuals involved had been extricated.

In total, three patients required medical attention following the accident. Two of these individuals are being transported to Christiana Hospital by ground ambulances, while the third patient will be airlifted from the scene by Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 4.

As a result of the accident, the intersection of Hamburg Road and River Road has been closed to traffic. Authorities are advising drivers to seek alternative routes and to expect delays in the surrounding area.
