Man Found Stabbed At Newark-Area Restaurant

On Saturday evening, March 16, 2024, just before 8:20, officials responded to the IHOP located in the Meadowood II Shopping Center at 2644 Capitol Trail in Newark.

Initial reports from the scene suggested that a male in his 30s had been stabbed.

Law enforcement along with rescue crews responded to the scene where they found the man suffering from serious injuries after being stabbed in the hand.

The patient was stabilized at the scene and subsequently transported to Christiana Hospital by Mill Creek Fire Company EMTs.

Although details regarding where the stabbing originally occurred remain unclear, callers to 911 indicated that the assailant was subdued across the street from the restaurant prior to police arriving on scene.
