Delaware Summer Food Service Locations For Students

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) in Delaware provides essential nutrition to children during the summer months when school is not in session. The initiative ensures that kids continue to receive healthy meals and snacks, helping them to grow, learn, and play throughout the summer.

Managed locally by the Delaware Department of Education, the SFSP is committed to making nutritious food accessible to children across the state. This year, families can easily locate meal sites through the Summer Meals for Kids Site Finder, a free web-based application developed by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS). The Site Finder offers a convenient way to find nearby meal sites, along with their hours of operation and contact information.

In Delaware, the program offers two types of meal sites: Eat On-Site and Meals To-Go. Eat On-Site locations require that meals and snacks be consumed at the site, allowing kids to socialize and participate in enrichment activities. Meals To-Go sites, available in some rural areas, allow families to pick up meals to eat off-site. These sites may also provide meals and snacks for multiple days at a time and offer opportunities for kids to engage in activities before taking their food home.
