Search For Inmate Underway In Sussex County

The Delaware Department of Correction has announced that David Sharp, an offender, willfully walked away from the Sussex Community Corrections Center (SCCC) in Georgetown on June 2, 2024, after failing to return from an approved pass. His current whereabouts are unknown and unauthorized. A Warrant for Escape after Conviction has been issued.

David Sharp, born on December 8, 1980, is described as 5’06” tall and weighing 215 pounds. He has blue eyes and blonde/strawberry hair. Sharp has multiple tattoos, including on his left arm, upper left arm, right arm, and right shoulder. His current offense is Violation of Probation (VOP) related to an unlawful lab officials said Monday.

The Sussex Community Corrections Center is a Level 4 facility designed to manage offenders who are transitioning back into the community. Unlike Level 5 prisons, these centers do not have the same level of security, allowing offenders to leave the facility for work, job searches, or approved treatment sessions.
