Motorcycle Crash Sends One To Hospital By Air Thursday

Officials are investigating a crash that seriously injured a man on Thursday morning in Wilmington.

The incident occurred just after 11:15, on Lancaster Pike near the Cab Calloway School. Emergency services from Elsmere, Five Points, New Castle County Paramedics, and Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 4 responded promptly to the scene.

Upon arrival, emergency crews found a male patient lying on the railroad tracks, suffering from serious injuries. The man was treated at the scene before being airlifted by Trooper 4 to Christiana Hospital for further medical care.

As a result of the emergency response and the need for the helicopter landing, lane restrictions were temporarily implemented along Lancaster Pike.

The exact circumstances leading to the crash are currently under investigation.
