Troopers Confirm Hockessin Gas Station Robbed At Gunpoint

The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a Liberty gas station in Hockessin yesterday evening.

Officials said on August 27, 2024, at approximately 5:43 p.m., troopers responded to a report of a robbery at the Liberty gas station, located at 5821 Limestone Road in Hockessin. The preliminary investigation revealed an unknown white male suspect entered the gas station, approached employees at the front counter while holding a firearm, and demanded money from the cash registers. The employees complied, and the suspect fled on foot toward Barclay Drive with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing dark-colored clothing.

This robbery is the latest in a string of robberies that occurred in the same general area in the last several days. On Tuesday morning the Valero in Milltown was robbed at gunpoint and just hours prior to that the Valero on Centerville Road was robbed at gunpoint. Officials have not said whether they think these other robberies are related to the latest robbery in Hockessin.
