Woman Charges With 7th DUI, Released On Unsecured Bond

Delaware State Police have arrested 44-year-old Ginger Velasquez (Timmons) of Georgetown, for her seventh offense DUI and related traffic violations.

The arrest occurred on April 15, 2025, at approximately 3:18 a.m. when a trooper on patrol observed a Chevrolet Cruze traveling eastbound on Wilson Hill Road near Downs Road with an improperly displayed license plate. A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver was identified as Velasquez.

Officials said upon contact, the trooper detected an odor of alcohol coming from her breath. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered, after which Velasquez was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

A review of her record revealed six prior DUI-related convictions according to police. Velasquez was transported to Troop 4, where she was formally charged with 7th Offense DUI, a felony, and Display of License Plate. She was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7 and released on a $7,001 unsecured bond.
