Police Seek Public’s Help In Shooting The Left One Dead, Four Injured

The Dover Police Department continues to investigate the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Daniel Guzman Jr., who was killed in the early morning hours of June 14, 2025, during a barrage of gunfire that also left four others injured.

At approximately 12:42 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Barrister Place following a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, police located Guzman suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body. Officers immediately rendered aid before he was transported to Bayhealth Kent Campus. Despite efforts by medical personnel, Guzman succumbed to his injuries.

As the investigation unfolded, four additional victims were identified, all males from Dover, who sustained gunshot wounds during the incident. The victims included a 58-year-old male with injuries to the lower body, a 26-year-old male also shot in the lower body, a 21-year-old male who suffered wounds to the upper body, and a 24-year-old male who was shot in the lower body. These individuals either arrived at the hospital by ambulance or through privately-owned vehicles.

Detectives have determined that a group of individuals was gathered in front of a residence when multiple unidentified suspects began shooting at them. The motive remains unclear, and no suspect descriptions have been released.
