Delaware State Police have identified 68-year-old Tracey Harden of Lewes as the victim of a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred Tuesday afternoon near Angola.
The crash happened on August 19, 2025, at approximately 1:55 p.m., when a Honda CRV traveling southbound on Harts Road stopped at the intersection with John J. Williams Highway. At the same time, a Freightliner Cascadia tractor-trailer was heading westbound on John J. Williams Highway.
Officials said investigators determined that the Honda failed to remain stopped at the intersection and attempted to turn left to travel eastbound, entering the path of the oncoming Freightliner. The front of the tractor-trailer struck the driver’s side of the Honda.
Harden, who was seated in the left rear passenger seat of the Honda, was transported to a nearby hospital where she later died. The 78-year-old male driver of the Honda and a 36-year-old female passenger, both from Lewes, were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. A 37-year-old female passenger from Jersey City, New Jersey, sustained critical injuries. The 64-year-old driver of the Freightliner, from Bowie, Maryland, refused transport to the hospital.
John J. Williams Highway was shut down for several hours while troopers investigated the crash and cleared the roadway. The investigation remains ongoing.
