Another Teen Shot In The City Of Wilmington

Wilmington Police have launched an investigation into a shooting that took place at about 9:31 p.m. Thursday, in the vicinity of 5th and West Streets. The victim, a 17-year-old male, was found with gunshot wounds and was transported to a hospital; his condition is reported as stable.

This latest incident comes just days after a deadly double shooting near 6th and Pine Streets in Wilmington, in which two Newark teenagers were fatally wounded.

One of those victims, a 16-year-old, died at the scene; the other, a 17-year-old, was hospitalized in critical condition and later died. A 16-year-old juvenile has since been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, among other offenses, in connection with that case.

The investigation into Thursday’s shooting remains active, and authorities are seeking leads or witnesses willing to provide information.
