Delaware State Trooper Struck Early Friday

A traffic collision involving a Delaware State Trooper was reported early Friday morning at the intersection of Old Churchmans Road and Don Avenue in New Castle’s Duross Heights development.

Emergency medical crews were dispatched at approximately 2:48 a.m. for a motor vehicle collision with injuries. Upon arrival, crews evaluated a 30-year-old male trooper. The Trooper was reportedly seated in his patrol vehicle at a complete stop when it was struck from behind by another vehicle traveling at an estimated speed of 30 miles per hour.

The Trooper refused transport and further medical care at the scene. No additional details surrounding the incident are available at this time.
