Police K9 Team Locates Missing 12 Year Old Child

Wilmington – On Tuesday just after 9:00 p.m., New Castle County Police were dispatched to Locust Road in reference to a missing child.

The child’s family reported that the child fled the residence at around 6:00 p.m., following an argument. Family members searched for hours but were unable to locate the child, which is when they called police for assistance.

Master Corporal Chad Carter and his K9 partner Ax responded to the scene to assist with the search. M/CPL Carter provided Ax with a pillow case from the child’s bed so Ax could obtain a scent and track. Ax began a track which continued for approximately 45 minutes though yards in the Duncan Rd area.

Ax ultimately located the child in good health the area of a nearby school. The child was returned to family members.
