Missing Motorcyclist Sad Ending


Camden, DE
– Last Monday the Delaware State Police posted a missing person notice on their Facebook page. Police were asking for help in locating William Ebert, 47 of Felton, Delaware. Ebert was last seen leaving a residence on Henry Cowgill Road on Sunday August 14, 2016 around 8:30 p.m. and had not been seen since. He was operating a red 2005 Suzuki motorcycle with Delaware registration; MC34384.

Police now say that between 8:30 p.m. Saturday August 13, 2016 and 7:34 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016, as William H. Ebert, 47 of Felton, was operating a 2005 Suzuki GX6 motorcycle eastbound on Henry Cowgill Road attempting to negotiate a left curve. Ebert drove off the south side of the road along the contour of a small ditch before striking an embankment. He continued through the front yard before traveling between two trees and entering a thicket of tall grass and weeds. Ebert continued through the thicket where he was ejected from the motorcycle.

William H. Ebert, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.
