Reports Of Smoke In University Of Delaware Dorm

Newark – Fire crews from Aetna Hose. Hook and Ladder, along with crews from Mill Creek, Christina and Cranston Heights Fire Companies have responded to the University of Delaware for reports of smoke in the Sypherd Hall dormitory.

Reports from the scene indicate that arriving crews determined that the smoke is coming from the mechanical room. The situation appears to be under control at this point. No injuries have been reported.

Delaware Avenue remains closed between North College Avenue and Academy as crews work the scene.
