The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating last night’s fire in Slaughter Beach, Delaware that damaged several houses, according to Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael G. Chionchio.
Chionchio said the blaze, reported shortly after 7:00 pm, occurred in the 300 block of Bay Avenue. The Memorial Fire Company directed fire suppression efforts as they battled through high winds.
State fire investigators are on the scene searching for the fire’s origin and cause. Two houses were destroyed along with three other homes damaged by exposure. There were no reported injuries.
Heavy fire damage is expected to exceed $500,000. This investigation continues.
