I-495 Accident Closes The Roadway, One To Hospital

Wilmington – This afternoon, at approximately 1:20, New Castle County Paramedics, along with personnel from the Wilmington Manor and Minquas Fire Companies were dispatched to the area of Interstate 495 Southbound and Route 141, for a motor vehicle crash with entrapment, according to Paramedic Senior Corporal David J. McKinney, Jr.

McKinney said arriving County Paramedics found a two vehicle crash, with no entrapment. The patient, a 60-year-old male, was evaluated on the scene for a complaint of a chest injury. He was transported to the Emergency Department at Christiana Hospital on board and ambulance from the Wilmington Manor Fire Company with a New Castle County Paramedic accompanying. He was stable at the time of transport. There were no other patients evaluated or transported from the scene.

The crash closed the roadway while crews worked to clear the accident.

The Delaware State Police were on scene and are investigating the crash.
