Troopers Investigating Fall That Sent Worker To Trauma Center By Air

The Delaware State Police are investigating an accident that seriously injured a Laurel man, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Juanita Huey.

Huey said the preliminary investigation has determined the incident occurred on Friday, September 13, 2019, at approximately 2:12 p.m., at a residence that was under construction, located in the 31000 Block of Heather Lane in Bethany Beach.

A 62-year-old Laurel man, working for a masonry contractor, was working on the second level of scaffolding when he fell from to the ground below and sustained serious injuries, according to Huey. The man was removed from the scene and transported by the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit to the Christiana Hospital where he is listed in stable but critical condition.
