Delaware National Guard Teams Up With Dover AFB In Joint Exercise

On Thursday the Delaware National Guard (DNG) received a Dover Air Force Base (DAFB) C-5M Super Galaxy at the New Castle Regional Airport as part of a Joint Exercise taking place between DAFB the DNG.

The disaster-response exercise, simulated specialized Delaware Guard personnel and assets deploying to affected areas quickly to assist in recovery and rescue operations.

During the exercise, the DNG loaded their vehicles and personnel on to the C-5M, the largest strategic airlifter in the Department of Defense.

The also spent the day learning from their Active Duty counterparts on Joint Inspections, Air Transportation and Load Planning.

A C-17 Globemaster III originally planned to take part in the exercise didn’t make it up to the New Castle Regional Airport due to some training requirements, according to the DNG.
