Woman Shot While Sitting Inside Car In Dover

Dover – The Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred at approximately 9:12 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2019, in front of a residence located in the 200 block of South Governors Blvd., Capital Park, Dover.

The initial investigation has determined that a 39-year-old female, was inside her vehicle that was parked in front of a residence, in the 200 block of South Governors Blvd., when she heard multiple gunshots. The victim was struck by one round in the upper torso and was immediately transported by private vehicle to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital where she is undergoing treatment for her injuries, according to Public Information Officer, Senior Corporal Jason Hatchell. There were no other reported victims as a result of the incident.

There is currently no description of the suspect or known motive for the shooting at this time.

One .45 caliber shell casing was located at the scene.
