Happening Now: Crews Responding To Apartment Fire In Bear, Subject Reported Trapped

Bear – Firefighters from across New Castle County are racing to the Cheltenham Village Apartment for a structure fire with possible entrapment.

First arriving crews reporting smoke showing.

Initial reports are that a family member was trapped by fire in the home.

Update: Crews have entered the apartment and are reporting and are reporting that the fire has been knocked by the sprinkler system.

Update: Crews reporting primary search is negative. County police now reporting that trapped subject is now outside.

Update: Crews working to shut off the sprinkler system.

Update: Christiana Command has placed the incident under control. Fire Marshals en route.
