Woman Killed In Seaford Trooper-Involved Shooting Identified

Seaford- Delaware State Police are currently investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred  March 25, 2021, in Seaford.

 

Troopers said at approximately 7:13 that evening they were dispatched to Danny Drive in Seaford. During the course of the investigation, an incident occurred which resulted in a Delaware State Trooper firing his divisional-issued weapon and resulted in the death of 51-year-old Kelly E. Rooks, of Seaford.

The trooper assigned to Delaware State Police Troop 5 was placed on administrative duty in adherence to Delaware State Police Divisional Policy.

Readers will remember that initial reports from the scene indicated that first responders may have been shot at prior to the officer-involved shooting.

The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is conducting the investigation.
