Crews Search For Missing Swimmer In Wilmington On Monday

Just before 2:30, Monday afternoon rescue crews from across New Castle County responded to Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park on Rosa Parks driver for reports a person in the water.

Early reports indicate that a male swimmer was seen in the water and did not surface or floated away. Crews have been using dive teams, boats, drones, and Trooper 4 for mush of the day.

The Market Street bridge was kept open for a period of time to allow the boats to move freely as they searched. The swimmer’s personal items were recovered after a witness alerted authorities to where they were located.
