Three Transported After Crash Involving A County Police Officer

New Castle County Police are investigating a crash involving one of their own.

Officials said last evening at approximately 10:50 p.m. a four-year veteran patrol officer was responding to a domestic incident in a fully marked police Chevy Tahoe westbound on Route 40 (Pulaski Highway ).

When the officer entered the intersection of Route 40 and Route 7 he collided with a white, BMW X3 officials said.

The 28-year-old operator of the BMW and a 23-year-old passenger were transported to a local area hospital where they were treated and released for minor injuries.  The police officer was also treated and released for minor injuries.
