Fiery Crash Early Saturday Leaves Man In Critical Condition

The Delaware State Police is investigating a fiery crash early Saturday.

At approximately 1:56 a.m. Saturday morning the Cranston Heights Fire Company was dispatched to Lancaster Pike and Hercules Road in Wilmington for the report of a motor vehicle collision with injuries, according to NCCEMS PIO S/Sergeant Abigail Haas.

Haas said a single vehicle had left the roadway and the vehicle had subsequently caught fire. New Castle County Paramedics were added to the call.

The 41-year-old male operator of the vehicle was treated by the Paramedics for significant burns. He was transported to the Christiana Hospital, in critical condition.

The Delaware State Police is investigating the incident.
