Mini-Van Driver In Serious Condition After Fiery Crash Monday

At approximately 3:10 p.m. the Mill Creek Fire Company, Cranston Heights Fire Company, Minquas Fire
Company of Newport and New Castle County Paramedics (NCCEMS) were dispatched to Telegraph Road and Route 7, in Stanton for the report of a motor vehicle collision with injuries.

NCCEMS S/Sergeant Abigail Haas said a two-vehicle collision was located in the roadway involving a mini-van and SUV, where the mini-van had subsequently caught fire.

The 55-year-old male operator of the mini-van was treated by the Paramedics for burns. He was transported to the Christiana Hospital, in serious condition.

The Delaware State Police is investigating the incident.

Crews are working to make repairs to the traffic lights that were damaged in the crash.

As of 5:00 crews remained on scene.
