Swimmer Found Deceased In Rehoboth Beach Monday

Rehoboth Beach Police have called off the search for missing swimmer Richard A. Boateng of Savage, Maryland, who was located deceased on the beach in the North Shores community in the area of Ocean Drive & Farview Road police said Monday.

On Monday morning just before 6am, members of the Rehoboth Beach Police, Delaware State Parks Enforcement Division, and the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Department responded to a sighting of a human body in the surf. Along with police and fire personnel, Sussex County Paramedics arrived on scene and positively identified the missing body of Richard A. Boateng. Boateng was pronounced deceased on scene.

A forensic investigator from the Division of Forensic Science responded to the scene and the body was removed. A death investigation is being conducted by the Rehoboth Beach Police and the Division of Forensic Science.

At this time, no foul play is suspected according to police.
