Police: Gunman Attepts To Rob CVS In Claymont Saturday

Delaware State Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred at CVS yesterday evening.

Officials said on March 8, 2024, at approximately 7 p.m., troopers responded to reports of an attempted armed robbery at CVS, located at 702 Naamans Road in Claymont. A preliminary investigation showed that an unidentified male suspect entered the store with a firearm, jumped over the counter, and demanded drugs from the pharmacist. While the pharmacist attempted to unlock the safe, the suspect fled the store without any proceeds.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a gray hoodie, dark pants, and dark shoes.

Delaware State Police Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit is actively investigating this incident. Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this case to contact Detective Rob Strecker by calling (302) 365-8413.
