Sexual Abuse Of A Minor Investigation Leads To Social Worker’s Arrest

Investigators with Maryland’s Wicomico Child Advocacy Center have initiated a investigation into the sexual abuse of a minor, officials announced on Wednesday. The case centers around allegations reported by the alleged victim, who reportedly detailed multiple instances of abuse occurring several years ago in Wicomico County according to authorities.

The suspect, identified as Reginald Harrison Shockley, 66, of Parsonsburg, Maryland, was arrested on July 16, 2024. Court records show that Shockley is facing multiple charges some stemming from 2015 – 2020, while others are dated from 2017 – 2020.

On July 17, 2024, Shockley appeared in Wicomico District Court for a bail review hearing, presided over by Judge Paula A. Price. Shockley was released on his own recognizance, with electronic monitoring ordered according to court records. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 15, 2024, in Wicomico District Court.

During the investigation, it was discovered that Shockley was employed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who frequently had access to children during his employment.
