Man airlifted after being shot in Millsboro Monday

Authorities are investigating a shooting that occurred Monday evening at an apartment complex near Old Landing Road and Union Street. Police were dispatched to the scene around 8:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting in the area.

A nearby resident told First State Update that they heard six gunshots, followed by a man yelling for someone to call 911. Within minutes, multiple police units and an ambulance crew arrived on the scene.

FSU has confirmed that a male victim in his 20s sustained a gunshot wound and was airlifted to Christiana Hospital. The medical transport helicopter landed around 9:00 p.m. Monday night.

Authorities have not yet provided details regarding the victim’s condition or the extent of his injuries. It is also unclear whether additional individuals were struck by gunfire.
