Fire Damages Newark-Area Home Friday Night

A fire damaged a home in the 200 block of Catalina Drive in the Harmony Hills neighborhood of Newark on the Friday. The incident was reported around 9:15 p.m., and brought a response from multiple area fire companies.

Arriving units reported smoke showing from the residence and confirmed an active fire in the home. Firefighters advanced hose lines into the structure and worked to contain the blaze. The fire was brought under control in approximately 20 minutes. Searches of the home met with negative results and no one was found inside. No injuries were reported.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
