10 Shot In Delaware Saturday, Two Fatally

Law enforcement agencies across Delaware are investigating three separate shooting incidents that occurred early Saturday, June 14, 2025, resulting in ten individuals being shot and two fatalities.

In Dover, the Dover Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 22-year-old man and injured four others. The incident occurred at approximately 12:42 a.m. in the 400 block of Barrister Place. Responding officers found the 22-year-old Dover man suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was transported to Bayhealth Kent Campus, where he later died.

Four additional victims, all males from Dover, also sustained gunshot wounds and either arrived at the hospital by ambulance or were transported by privately-owned vehicles. The victims included a 58-year-old male, a 26-year-old male, a 21-year-old male, and a 24-year-old male. Injuries ranged from wounds to the upper and lower body.

Preliminary findings indicate that multiple suspects opened fire on a group of individuals gathered in front of a residence. No suspects have been identified, and the investigation remains ongoing.

At approximately 1:32 p.m., Wilmington Police responded to a shooting in the 300 block of North Franklin Street.

Police said they located a 26-year-old male gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Police also located a 35-year-old male gunshot victim who was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Later that morning, Delaware State Police responded to a third shooting in Sussex County. At approximately 2:00 a.m., troopers were dispatched to a residence in the 24000 block of Rivers Edge Drive in Millsboro. Upon arrival, they located a 19-year-old male outside the residence suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional male victims were also located with gunshot injuries and transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Through the investigation, troopers identified 25-year-old Marcus Harris as the suspected shooter. According to police, the victims had gone to the residence where a female occupant, who knew both Harris and the deceased, became involved in an argument with the 19-year-old. The argument escalated into a physical confrontation between Harris and the 19-year-old, during which Harris opened fire, fatally shooting him and injuring the two other men police said.

Harris was taken into custody without incident and charged with Murder First Degree, two counts of Attempted Murder First Degree, and three counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. He was arraigned and committed to the Department of Corrections on a $480,000 cash bond.
