On Monday, June 16, 2025, at approximately 10:26 p.m., Officers patrolling the Alban Park community heard multiple gunshots coming from the area of Homestead Road in Wilmington. Moments later, they observed a vehicle speeding away from the scene. Officers followed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Maryland Avenue.
Officers discovered that the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 26-year-old male, had sustained gunshot wounds to his lower extremities. Officers immediately provided first aid until Emergency Medical Services arrived. The victim was then transported to a nearby hospital, where he is in stable condition.
Responding officers located a crime scene in the 600 block of Homestead Road, which included multiple vehicles that had been struck by gunfire.
