New Clues Sought In 2021 Double Homicide

The Wilmington Police Department has renewed its appeal for public assistance in a double homicide that has remained unsolved for more than five years.

Investigators with the department’s Cold Case Unit are asking for new information in connection with the April 23, 2021 shooting deaths of 31-year-old Jermaine Black and 31-year-old James Manlove-McKnight.

Police said officers were dispatched at approximately 8:40 p.m. to the 300 block of West 23rd Street for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers located both men suffering from gunshot wounds. They were later pronounced dead as a result of their injuries.

The investigation was later assigned to the department’s Cold Case Unit, which reviews unsolved cases after initial leads have been exhausted. Detectives continue to reexamine evidence and pursue new information in an effort to advance the case.

Officials are urging anyone with information related to the shooting to come forward. Tips can be provided directly to the Cold Case Unit or submitted anonymously through Delaware Crime Stoppers.

The case remains active, and investigators have not released additional details regarding potential suspects or developments.
