Hockessin Man Charged With Homicide By Vehicle In PA Crash

A Hockessin man has been arrested and charged in connection with a January crash in Chester County that left his passenger dead.

Kennett Township Police arrested 59-year-old Kevin Keating following an investigation into the January 14, 2026 crash in the 9100 block of Gap Newport Pike.

According to police, Keating was driving a 2021 Dodge Challenger when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed. His passenger, Christopher Blevins, suffered fatal injuries and died two days later on January 16.

Investigators allege Keating was traveling significantly above the posted 45 mph speed limit at the time of the crash. Testing indicated Keating had a blood alcohol concentration exceed the legal limit, according to police.

Keating has been charged with Homicide by Vehicle While DUI, Homicide by Vehicle, Accidents Involving Death or Personal Injury, multiple counts of Driving Under the Influence, Recklessly Endangering Another Person and related traffic offenses.

Police said Keating was arrested Tuesday, August 18, at the District Court in Kennett Square. He was arraigned and bail was set at $500,000 unsecured.

As conditions of his bail, Keating is prohibited from driving in Pennsylvania, must surrender his passport, abstain from alcohol and drugs and report to the court monthly.
