6 Year Old Killed Driver Faces DUI Charge

The Dover Police Department arrested 26-year-old David Randall following a motor vehicle accident that killed a six-year-old girl.  Police say Randall drove into the parking lot of White Oak Condos located at 1001 White Oak Road at approximately 8:26PM.  Police then said Randall attempted to park his vehicle, a 2002 Ford Focus, in a parking space in front of L Building.  Investigators believe Randall sped forward onto the sidewalk where six-year-old Anya Jackson, her mother (LeShell Wiles), and a family friend were standing.  All three people where struck, pinning Jackson against the building and injuring the others.  All three victims were transported to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital where Anya Jackson succumbed to her injuries as a result of multiple blunt force trauma.  Wiles and the third victim were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police have charged David Randall Vehicular Homicide 1st Degree, -Vehicular Assault 2nd Degree (x2) and Driving Under the Influence

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
