Wilmington Man Arrested For Homicide

Police say that on Wednesday, July 20th just after 3 pm, units responded to a residence located in the 2900 block of N. Market Street in reference to a medical complaint of CPR in progress.

Arriving police units met medical personal on scene and made entry into the residence. Officers located an unresponsive female, later identified as Whitney White, with obvious signs of trauma to the upper torso. New Castle County Paramedics pronounced the female dead at the scene.

While investigating Wilmington Police Detectives developed Martin Taylor, 39, of Wilmington as a suspect in connection with the woman’s death. Martin was located the next day in the center city area of Wilmington and taken into custody without incident.

Detectives said that Martin was transported to the Christiana Hospital for medical treatment prior to being transported to Wilmington Police headquarters where he was charged with  murder in the 1st degree, and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony.
