Smyrna – Smyrna Police say that on July 19th at 12:35 am an Smyrna Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for moving and equipment violations in the area of Route 13 and S Carter Road. While speaking with the driver, identified as Capice Johnson, 21 of Smyrna police say a strong odor of marijuana was detected. Mr. Johnson was detained after handing over to officers approx. 0.4 grams of marijuana from within the vehicle, police said.
Police say that after the vehicle was searched they found 523 wax folds of heroin (weighing a total of 7.845 grams) inside of a bag on the rear passenger seat. Police officials said Mr. Johnson was also found to be in possession of approx. $1,100 in suspected drug proceeds. Smyrna Police officers transported Mr. Johnson back to the Smyrna Police Dept. where he was charged with the following crimes;
Johnson was arraigned via video court in JP #7 and committed to the Dept. of Corrections in lieu of $80,400 cash only bond pending a future court hearing.
