Police: Intoxicated Student Enters Wrong House

August 5, 2016 – On Friday August 5, 2016 at approximately 2:06 a.m. the Newark Police responded to the 300 block of Delaware Circle for a report that a 36 year old female woke up and found an unknown male lying next to her in bed, police said. The victim jumped out of bed and called 911.

Authorities said that as this was occurring, the male who appeared intoxicated, stated that he lived there. The unknown male then fled down the stairs and exited the residence. Officers searching the scene noticed that a window air conditioner had been moved and damaged.

Police said that they found shoes, a cell phone, and a wallet with identification for Andrew Koster during the search. Detectives later made contact with Andrew Koster and it was determined that he also resides on the 300 block of Delaware Circle. Koster, 21 years old, was charged with Trespassing 1st Degree and Criminal Mischief.

The Newark Police Department affirms that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
