Police: Man Robs Three Stores Rams Two Cars

Wilmington – Delaware State Police need your help identifying this man. The black male suspect depicted in the surveillance photo is linked to at least three separate robberies in the Wilmington and Claymont areas as well as one in Upland, Pennsylvania, police said.

The first of the three in Delaware occurred at the Walgreens located at 1508 Philadelphia Pike on July 13, 2016  at approximately 7:20 p.m., as a male suspect entered. Police said the suspect then approached a male clerk and implied that he was armed and then demanded cigarettes from the clerk. The clerk complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of cigarettes to him and the suspect then exited the business and was last seen fleeing in an unknown make and model vehicle, according to police, There were no injuries.

The second occurred at the Walgreens located at 802 Philadelphia Pike on July 30, 2016 around 11:42 a.m. when he entered the store and confronted two employees and demanded cash, officials said.  Police said the employees complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash before he fled out of the store.  The employees were not injured.

In a third incident that occurred earlier this morning around 9:30 a.m., Friday August 5, 2016, the suspect entered the Wawa located at 301 Ridge Road, Claymont, and approached the cashiers armed with an unknown type handgun, according to authorities.  Police then say the suspect demanded cash from the registers and safe and the employees complied by turning over an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect then fled in a silver Ford Focus that struck two civilian vehicles that were attempting to prevent his escape before fleeing northbound on Hickman Road, police said. No one was injured inside or outside the store as the suspect was escaping.
