Smyrna Police investigators said that they made three arrests for serious felonies after investigating a stabbing which occurred in the unit block of E Mount Vernon Street. On August 19, 2016, at around 2:00 a.m. Daryl Glover, 53 of Smyrna, walked into the Smyrna Police lobby with injuries to his upper torso complaining that he had just been stabbed by an acquaintance, according to police.
Patrol officers administered first aid until Glover was transported. by EMS, to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital. Police said that investigators determined that Malcom Casson, 23 of Camden and Quintin Lowman, 37 of Harrington went to Mount Vernon residence and engaged in a fight with Glover.
Police said that during the fight, all three Suspects used knives, with Mr. Glover and Mr. Lowman suffering serious injuries. Investigators took Mr. Casson and Mr. Lowman into custody at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital.
Glover was also taken into custody after being treated for his injuries. While in custody, Mr. Lowman attempted to escape from the building, police said. Officials have not determined the exact reasons for the fight.
The Suspects were each charged and arraigned via video court in JP #2 with the following crimes:
Malcom Casson: Attempted Manslaughter, Assault 1st degree, Possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, Conspiracy 2nddegree (Committed to DOC for lack of $151,000 secured bond)
Quintin Lowman: Attempted Murder 1st, Assault 1st degree, Possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, Escape 2nd degree, Conspiracy 2nd degree, Theft under $1500 (Committed to DOC for lack of $203,000 secured bond)
Daryl Glover: Assault 1st (Committed to DOC for lack of $25,000 secured bond)
