Street In Kosovo Named After Beau Biden

Kosovo – August 17, Vice President Joe Biden inaugurates a street in Kosovo named after his son Beau, who died of cancer last year. Beau Biden worked in Kosovo in 1998-99, helping to train legal officials, and the vice president spoke of the importance of the rule of law for ensuring the country’s future.

Beau Biden, a former Delaware attorney general, served in 2001 as an interim legal adviser on postwar Kosovo, helping train local prosecutors and judges for the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). He also served one year in Iraq, from 2008 to 2009, with the U.S. National Guard.
