Felton – The Delaware State Police are asking the public’s assistance in attempting to locate a Felton man wanted for various felonious crimes that were committed in Kent County.
Police said on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, members of the Delaware State Police Kent County Drug Unit with the assistance of the Harrington Police Department conducted an investigation after receiving information that Robert D. Jones, 38 of Felton, had received a large quantity of heroin at his residence.
During the investigation troopers observed Jones leaving the residence driving a vehicle northbound on US 13, according to police. Authorities said that a computer check revealed Jones was driving on a suspended license. When troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, Jones fled east onto Barney Jenkins Road and entered into the area of Meadowbrook Acres where the pursuit was terminated, police said.
Troopers said a search of two residences in the unit block of Skinner Lane led to a large heroin supply belonging to Jones. During the search over 4,400 baggies of heroin were seized which contained nearly 33 logs weighing approximately 63.18 grams, according to authorities.
Robert D. Jones is currently wanted for Drug Dealing, Heroin Possession in a Tier 5 Quantity, Tampering with Evidence, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Resisting Arrest, Disregarding a Police Officers Signal, Driving While Suspended/Revoked, Failure to Stop on Command and multiple traffic charges.
Robert D. Jones is described as a black male approximately 5’06” weighing 200 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes.
