Cops Seize 413 Bags Of Heroin

Smyrna – Authorities said that an off-duty Smyrna Police Officer witnessed three woman involved in a hand to hand drug transaction in the parking lot of the Glenwood Plaza shopping center.

This officer immediately contacted on-duty coworkers and informed them of the incident. A description of the three females and the two vehicles they were operating was broadcast to patrol officers. An officer conducted a traffic stop on the first suspect vehicle in the area of Wheatley’s Pond Road and N Carter Road Jennifer Bell, 44 of Marydel, was contacted. Ms. Bell admitted to just purchasing 10 bags of heroin in the shopping center parking lot. Ms. Bell was taken into custody, according to policeand quickly alerted on-duty coworkers, resulting in the seizure of 413 bags of heroin, 0.4 grams of MDMA and suspected proceeds from drug dealing.

Police said that while officers were on the scene of this traffic stop, the other suspect vehicle drove by and was later stopped in the area of Wheatley’s Pond Road and Coldwater Drive.

During the second stop officers contacted Kyah Hall, 21 of Philadelphia, PA and her passenger Jayme Turner, 22 of Smyrna DE., police said.   After a brief investigation, a vehicle search ensued which resulted in the seizure of 390 bags of heroin as well as 0.4 grams of MDMA and suspected drug proceeds, according to police. Authorities went on to say that Ms. Turner was later found to be in possession of an additional 13 bags of heroin concealed on her person.

All 3 suspects were transported to police headquarters where Ms. Bell was charged with Possession of a controlled substance, and Driving while Suspended. She was issued a $650.00 unsecured bond by JP #7 via video court.

Ms. Hall and Ms. Turner were both charged with Possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier 4 quantity, Conspiracy 2nd degree, Possession of a controlled substance and Possession of drug paraphernalia. Ms. Hall was arraigned via video court in JP #7 and committed to the custody of the Department of Corrections in lieu of $20,850 secured bond. Ms. Turner was charged with one additional count of Possession of a controlled substance and she was committed to the custody of Department of Corrections in lieu of $21,100 secured bond.

The incident occurred on 9/10/16 at approx. 2:45 P.M.
