Armed Robbery Fail

New Castle Delaware State Police are currently investigating the attempted armed robbery of a New Castle area liquor store that occurred last night, Master Corporal Jeffrey R. Hale.

Hale said that the incident happened at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2016, as a male suspect entered the D & H Liquors located at 106 Jeston Drive.

The suspect displayed a knife and confronted a male clerk, demanding money from the cash register. The clerk, however, refused to comply with the suspect’s demands. The suspect then fled from the business and was last seen running in a northbound direction. There were no injuries, according to Hale.

The suspect was described as a black male. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and had a mask covering his face. There is no further physical or clothing description available.
