Newark – New Castle County Police are on scene investigating a shooting in Sparrow Run that left one injured. Police said that at around 1:35 a.m., County Police responded to the 100 block of Flamingo Dr in reference to a shooting.
When they arrived police located a 38-year-old female victim suffering an apparent gunshot wound. She was provided first-aid on scene and transported to an area hospital via ambulance.
Through the investigation, police determined that the victim was struck by gunfire as she slept in her residence. Police located other residences and vehicles on the block that were struck by gunfire as well, no other injuries were reported. Detectives responded to the scene and have assumed the investigation.
