17-Year-Old Shot In Face With Shotgun

Dover – The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting in the 1400 Block of S. Farmview Drive that occurred early Monday night, according to Dover Police Spokesman Mark Hoffman.

Hoffman said that at approximately 7:23 p.m., officers responded to the area for a shots fired call.  While on scene, police were notified that a 17-year-old victim had arrived at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital with a gunshot wound to the face.

The 17-year-old was struck by bird shot, a shotgun shell containing numerous pellets, and his injuries are not life threatening.  Additionally, a home in the 1400 Block of S. Farmview Drive was struck by the gunfire as well.  No further injuries occurred as a result.  The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation.
