Dover – DART First State announced the release of an innovative mobile and web application that allows Fixed Route transit customers to view real time bus arrival information.
The DelDOT mobile app will be enhanced with new transit features that will allow users to select any DART fixed route bus stop, receive bus stop-based arrival times and view live updates as a bus icon tracks real time bus positions along the selected route’s path of travel.
The application was developed internally by staff members from several DelDOT divisions, using data collected by DART’s existing multi-million dollar transit dispatch system at the core of its statewide operation. The DelDOT mobile app is free and available to anyone using a smartphone device (iOS and Android).
To download the free DelDOT mobile app search for “DelDOT” at the Google Play and Apple App stores. The app can also be accessed on the web via DelDOT’s interactive map found at www.deldot.gov.
DelDont said that real time information is dependent on a wide variety of factors including telecommunications, internal processing, road conditions, and other operational elements.
