Dover Man Found Shot In Chest Dies

Dover – At approximately 10:46 p.m., Friday, December 23, 2016,  the Dover Police Department was dispatched to an alley connecting Mitscher Road and Spruance Road, just north of Division Street, for a welfare check after a 52-year-old man was seen lying on the ground, according to Dover Police Public Information Officer Mark Hoffman.

Hoffman said that responding officers, contacted Anthony Wallace of Dover, who was unresponsive, and then requested an EMS response. When medics began checking Wallace, it was discovered that he had a single gunshot wound to the upper torso. Wallace was transported to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital where he was pronounced dead several hours later as a result of his injury.
