On Sunday. December 25, 2016, at about 3:20 a.m., County Police Patrol Officers were dispatched to Laxford Drive for a shots-fired call. Through the investigation, police learned that a victim was robbed at gunpoint, said Piser. During the robbery, there was a struggle over the weapon between the suspect and victim, and the handgun discharged, according to Piser. A nearby residence was struck but no one was seriously injured. The suspect then dropped the firearm and fled the scene, said Piser.

Responding officers called for K9 support to attempt to track the suspect. Piser said that OFC Cory Tanyer and K9 Ace responded to the scene and conducted a track. The track led officers from the scene to an open field in the Three Rivers Circle area. K9 Ace located Savon Roy lying face-down in the field, according to Piser. Officers took Savon Roy into custody without incident. Upon a search of his person, officers located evidence implicating Savon Roy in the incident, said Piser.
