Bear- Delaware State Police are currently investigating the armed robbery of a Bear area restaurant that occurred early this morning, according to Delaware State Police Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Jeffrey R. Hale.
Hale said that the incident occurred at approximately 12:38 a.m. yesterday, Sunday, January 29, 2017, as two male suspects confronted two employees of the Hibachi Restaurant, located at 1160 Pulaski Highway in Bear, as the employees were closing the business for the night.
One of the suspects displayed a handgun and ordered the victims to open the doors to the restaurant, said Hale. After the victims unlocked the doors, the suspects forced them back inside and escorted them to the office area, according to Hale.
It was at this point that the suspects proceeded to remove cash from the business safe and demanded cash and cell phones belonging to the victims, said Hale. The suspects then fled out of the rear door of the restaurant and were last seen running toward Bear-Corbitt Road, said Hale. There were no injuries.
The first suspect was described as a black male. He was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt, black jacket, dark colored jeans, white sneakers, and had a cloth partially covering his face. He was also armed with a gun, according to Hale.
